We were going to the high Africa for the second time and I could not wait for it we were going with the grade fours and everyone was really excited for the camp. The drive was really boring but I played top trumps with my friends so it was less boring for me. Finally we arrived at camp first we were told who we were sharing cabins with then after we had settled in we met Alex and Leo they were the people who were going to help the teachers tell us what to do and they were helping look after us first we went top the climbing wall and it was absolutely awesome the climbing wall had four different levels of difficulty with green being the easiest then yellow then red and lastly orange I was the only person who did not do green or yellow I did the red one and it was so hard that when I got to the top it was awesome that was one of the highlights of the whole camp for me. After that we did the leap of faith which was where you were clipped into a harness and you climbed a really high ladder to pole then you stood on the pole and you had to jump to a hanging metal pole and I was the first to go and it was so scary so when I jumped I missed the pole and swung around a bit it was so cool and it felt like I was flying. We played a game after supper we played a game and my team won twice.
My favorite day at chetserhouse was in grade 6 ,when we had to dress up as who we wanted to be when we grow up. I dressed up as a fashion business woman, owning my own fashion company. Myself and my best friends all dressed as different people, because we all had different dreams. This day was both fun and interesting because we got to see what people would like to be when they grow up. Kayla had brought her camera and we took loads of pictures together and were together most of the time because we a similar dream. Its also kind of funny because some people were swopping things that they were wearing, like myself and Leche swopped shoes and Kayla lent me her sun glasses and those type of things. I have had many other fun days but I must say that I did enjoy this one
My favorite day in chesterhouse was in grade 4 it was the second day of high Africa I was scared but excited at the same time after we had climbed the climbing wall we had to do the leap of faith and I was so excited but when I got up I froze my class was looking at me I felt like I was in a box just waiting to get out I gathered all my courage and jumped it felt great I loved it it was awesomeh
MY favourite school day was the last day of school. I got to school and we got ready to run and the day ended at about 10am.I ran with the grade 3,4,5 and my class. The day was fun because the day ended early and we got to run and we didn’t have to do any school work for the day. I took part in the fun run and I came first in the race and one of my friends came second. We all got a t-shirt for free and I like free stuff so that was cool…
My favorite day at Chesterhouse was when we had a “world day” when I was in grade 2 (2005). Our country was Mauritius and every different grade had a different country. There was China, Mexico, America, Canada, Japan etc. and we had to carry a little passport around and we would go to different classrooms and learn about the specific country. We would taste their food, we would learn about there culture and see what they wore. After we had gone to a country, we would get a stamp in our little passports. All the Grade 2 students had to dress up as people from Mauritius (we had to wear tropical things like flowers etc.). We wore bright colors and patterns and I wore a bright multi-colored dress with a flower in my hair and I did my hair as a side-pony. We didn’t do anything but that, that day, it was my favorite day!
The best day in Chesterhouse was when we went on camp in year 5. The fun nest thing there to me was the jump of faith. The last year I didn’t go on because I thought it was too high but the next year when I came back I jumped, and loved it. I was at the camp with all my class mates and teachers. The jump was high and fun, you got a harness and clipped it around your waist and attached you to a rope, and then you would climb up a ladder until you got to this metal railing. You would have a rope above you and could hold on to that and move along the railing. Then when you got to the middle you would then jump swing down you could do lots of moves and you didn’t even have to hold on to it. Then when you reached the floor you just wanted to go again and again.
At HighAfrica last year it was extremely fun when we had to climb the climbing wall the first time I didn’t make it .when I tried again I made it ,and on the way up Mr Mac who was standing at the top on a platform made me laugh so hard I nearly fell when I reached the top, I felt proud when I reached the top.
My favorite day was when I managed to do a 5 km run that I thought that I would never be able to do. I was going to give up when I got to the top of D,urbanvale but then I started realizing that I couldn’t achieve my goal I f I gave up. I was by the turn off to my house when I got my second breathe and then started realizing that if I paced myself that It was easy. Amanda ran past me but then I caught up with her and we ran next to each other for the whole run. About half way I wasn’t tired at all and I felt like sprinting but I realized that it would just make me even more tired.
Olympic Day at Chesterhouse Last year when I was in grade 5, we had a day where each grade had a different country to represent. Our country was Jamaica. Each pupil in the class had to bring a certain type of food or drink that the Jamaican people drank and ate. We learnt a lot about the different countries. We also had to dress up wearing the Jamaican colours of there flag. My favourite country was Switzerland because they had Tolberone chocolate (that’s because it comes from Switzerland.) It was a lots of fun also because we had to take part in Olympic Games. All my classmates and I were extremely hyper! What an awesome day!
My favourite day at Chesterhouse was the fun run it was an exciting day at school I had to run a 1,3km run and came 4th after that I was breathless but soon came back to my senses it was good exercise that day and I did it with my friends. Later we all sat on the schools stands and were offered to run again, at first I turned down the offer but I later ran it and finished 2nd by then I was completely exhausted and could barley walk we were all handed a fizzer and we were all wearing our fun run t-shirts that were given to us at the beginning of the day but by now it was dripping with sweat and water. Later the Falcons team and the Eagles team had an interhouse challenge the first event the Falcons were winning until all our water was knocked out the cup. After that we went up to the classroom and school was finished.
My most favorite day ever (at school)was in grade 4, when there was a class party at the pool because all we did all day was have free time and swim in the school swimming pool. We swam all day and just did what ever we wanted to do at the school pool. The pool was hot and the day was sunny .It was my friends farewell party .And my teachers birthday. The best part of it was the pool. I had fun swimming.
My favorite day at chesterhouse was when l could have fun with my friends in a game of ruby. It was so much fun, because when both my best friends were to have fun with but now it is just boring at break time now because there is.
My favorite day at school was on 28 October 2009.when the u11/a cricket team played a match against Valhalla primary. The school is in Elsie’s river I did it with the support of my friends, coaches and parents that came to support. I hit all runs with my bat and if it wasn’t for Mr. Henry that kept my score so well and Zach that gave me advice on how to bat through the game I could never have done it. The day was fun because I scored my highest score ever in cricket and we won. It was also fun because I bowled really well and everyone applauded me and It felt really good. This day was also funny because we got there a half a hour late and the other team was already packing up lol!!!!!!!
My favourite day at school was in yr5 and I went to High Africa and my buddies were there. We went on the climbing wall and run around to places and did fun games. It was fun because we did lots of fun games and stuff and then we went to bed and talk about some random stuff that meant absolutely no sense I was no contribute to the world. We had fun that day and I enjoyed it very much!!The climbing wall was not that hardand it was fun.
I was sitting in my class in year 5 making a water cycle project for our D.T. assignment me and my buddies, Hilton and Matthew, messing around playing with all sorts of different stuff paint unfortunately the day ended quiet quickly ,but you know the old saying ‘Time goes fast when you’re having fun.” after that we still had fun with our golf couch his name was Jinni
My favorite day at school was when I did the fun run! It was on the last day of term 3 We ran 1.3km long it was tiring but fun and I enjoyed myself. I came in 4th place tied with Kyle.w. I was the 1st girl to get back to school then we had a falcon against eagle thing the eagles were in the lead but then the eagles started to fall behind when the falcons beat them in the head painting game. I don’t know if we came tie or if the eagles or falcons won or lost? Questions What day was it on? Who did you tie with?
My favorite day at school was when I was in grade 5. I went to High Africa with all my friends. It wasn’t that fun when I was on the bus driving towards High Africa and driving back but at the camp, it was really fun. I liked the part when we made the boat. I fell in the water but my group still won. I didn’t like the part when I had to go home.
My favorite day at school was in grade five at High Africa on the leap of faith. I was very nervous at first, I thought I wouldn’t make it but when I jumped and got hold of it I felt much better and was glad it was all over. I also injoud the climbing wall I made it to the top first time.
My favorite day at chesterhouse was career day. Everybody in the junior school had to dress up as the career they would one day pursue. At first I had no idea what I would dress up as. Most of my friends that are girls dressed up as people who had something to do with fashion…they all looked so GLAMOROUS. Most of the boys in our class dressed up as people in the army. I decided to dress up as a journalist. It was A.W.E.S.O.M.E!
My favourite school day was the day we left for camp because it was the first camp and the first night I ever spent without my parents. Although it was exiting it was extremely scary. I struggled to sleep at night, I kept thinking about my parents at home. The “leap of faith” was also mad. We went to camp with the Gr.5 classes and our teachers.
Monday My favorite day at school is Monday because it is I.T. We used a program called Train building. We did it with Mr. Mac, the funniest teacher. I liked it ’cause Mr. Mac is funny and we played a game called Train building when you building vehicles and connect it to company’s that need each other. It was difficult when we tried it at fist but easy when we did it .
My favourite day at school was when I had my ninth birthday here at school. My whole class went down to the pool and we all ate cupcakes and pies and had party packs and a whole lot of other really unhealthy and fattening snacks and we all felt really sick afterwards. We all played games and made jokes and my friends almost pushed me into the pool. I had so much fun with all my friends, my mom and my teacher. Me, Rachel, Tao and Keelyn kept chasing everyone and we always tried to push them into the pool but we never really succeeded. We also kept telling each other’s future and we made up scary jokes and stories. It was really fun because it was a beautiful day and a great opportunity to spend some quality time with all my friends. Me and my best friend keep saying that it was the best birthday I ever had and we still think so. Even though that was extremely long ago I will remember it forever as the best day of my life.
My favorite school day was not at school it was at high Africa. I had a really fun time and we played lots of games the teachers would wake us up early in the morning and we had a big breakfast then we when into our teams that we had been split up into the day before. We played different games that day not like the games we had played the day before.
After the games we had milk but I did not have any because my mom did not pack in a glass but my friend let me use his and used his water bottle. I shared a cabin,Giylah,Keelyn with, Ruby ,Nichole ,Aqueelah. We had a lot of fun then we played more games then we made some buns to eat then we got split up into 4 different groups and made some food it was really fun then we decorated the table and gave the teachers I food we had cooked.( it was a nice dinner)
The teachers really liked it I did too so did the rest of the group(. Then we went to our rooms and put on our shoes and came back then we got tied up together and had to catch one of our teachers that was fun. When we had a shower the water was cold ! Thenthe teachers told us to go to bed we were not tired so we just whispered and slowly fell asleep. I HAD SO MUCH FUN
My favorite day at school was when it was the Fun Run .It was so fun because I like to run. I came in first place and I got a chocolate .Then we did it again and we got T Shirt .Then we did some games it was the best. Then we went home and my friend came over.
My favourite school day was when the year 4’s and year 5’s went on a camp to High Africa. When we arrived on the bus I sat in the front and it was really awesome because I saw mostly everything. It took some time to get there, so we played games on the bus, it was really fun. After we arrived we got our bags and went to our dorms and settled in.
When we got there all of my friends came with me and it was a really awesome experience, also the teachers came with. Each activity was fun because either my friends or the teachers were there with me to do it. In my cabin I was with Sam, Ross, Jeremy and Eammon and it was really fun to be with my friends.
This was the best camp yet because it was filled with fun and joy. Each day we did something really fun and it was never boring. This was probably the best camp ever for me. And each day we always did something fun and it was never boring.
My favourite day at Chesterhouse was the day that I jumped off the Leap of Faith at the High Africa Camp. The Leap of Faith is a challenge being harnessed into a rope tied high in the air. You are required to climb and jump of a 4 metre pole. It was easy to jump off the pole, however I did have a tough time climbing the ladder. It was shaky and was a little scary. Although it was tough, my classmates encouraged me by cheering my name. This helped my confidence.
My favourite school day was when we went to camp in Simon’s Town. The Grade 3’s and 4’s all went. We all had to sleep in bungalows. The grade 3’s (us) had two bungalows opposite each other, my class in one and the other class in the other. The bungalows had bunk beds in them. Megan, one of my good friends, slept opposite me on the bottom bunk. She wasn’t allowed to sleep on my top bunk, because was too dangerous. We sat up almost all night whispering, but our teacher almost caught us, so we eventually fell asleep. The next day, Megan, Giylah,, Ross, RubenTayla and myself were playing on the roundabout. We got quite dizzy, so we went to play on the jungle gym. Then everyone went to the beach, where Megan and I watched some penguins waddle into the sea. Later, we all went to the sea shop. I didn’t have any money, but surprisingly my teacher gave me R50! I bought an egg with a toy penguin that comes out of the egg. (I gave my teacher change at school) I spent most of my time with Megan, if it was playing on the roundabout or fighting over chocolate! I think the day was fun because I got to spend time with Megan, and also because that was my first actual camp! And I enjoyed it too!
My favourite school day was when we were on camp at High Africa, when we were going to do the leap of faith. I couldn’t wait for my turn. Thank goodness I never through up afterwards. It was also so funny because the teachers had to do it after we did it.
We did with the groups that we were put in, group one and group two. I was in group two. Our group first did the leap of faith (which rocked) and then we did the rock climbing (also rocked). Mrs. Vorster (my teacher) was in my group, sadly my friend Ruben was in the other group (aww). Some of my other friends like Samuel, Nikita, Giylah, Rachel and Tayla were also in my group (yay).
It was fun because when you climb up the ladder and then you must balance on the pole, when the man nodded his head you must jump off which was so much fun (awesome). Sadly we only got to do it twice (Waa). It was also so much fun because we watched everyone else and the teachers jump down (so funny).
My favourite day was the fun run .We ran like you would not believe , but is was the best exercise. You would ever see we were so stiff we could hardly walk ,but it was cool. We did the fun run with the year 2s,3s,5s,6s,7s,8s,9s and10s.The day was fun because we ran like mad .It was amazing .There were prizes and when we were finished we did other things like the year 2s and 3s had to write ‘’CHESTERHOUSE RULES’’,on paper .They had to write it with the paint brush stuck to there caps !!!Then we got a t-shirt that said ‘’CHESTERHOUSE FUN RUN’’.
MY FAVOURITE SCHOOL DAY WAS WHEN WE WENT TO HIGH AFRIKA!! IT WAS FUN BECAUSE WE DID LOTS OF ACTIVITYS LIKE A CLIMBING WALL AND THE LEAP OF FAITH!
WE WENT WITH OUR TEACHERS.THEY WERE AIWAYS MAKING JOKES( ESSPECIALLY Mr. Mac and Mr Henry)one night after supper Mr. Mac told us a funny story about a hedgehog and the binky lights. I gave missus Vorster a wet willy! We played a lot .we had a frisbee competition.we also played jokes. We had to do group activities and I was in group2. It was fun!!!!!!!
My favourite school day was on April the 27th when we were putting our bags down on the hall floor and waiting until the bus arrived for camp at “High Africa”. The bus finally arrived and we all jumped in. We finally arrived and jumped out, and had to all sit down in a tiny room so some people could introduce them selves. After that we could go and pick cabins I shared a cabin with Megan, Aqeelah and Keelyn and we had a lot of fun but our previous cabin was broken so we had to move into one of the grade 5cabins. When we finally settled down in our cabins, we had lunch, hamburgers.
After lunch we were put into two big groups, we had to make a group name and theme song. Thanks to Dino we won, and our teams name was “Champions”. Then for the rest of the day we stayed in our groups, my group’s first activity was “The Leap of Faith” it was quite high but it was awesome, we all had so much fun. Then we had to go to an obstacle course, but we were all attached to a rope and it was so funny so many people fell and tripped and were confused. After that it was dinner time we had spaghetti bolognaise. Then we quickly brushed our teeth and put pj’s on. We did a quick night activity we all got our torches and did played games. One of the games was when everyone had to hold on to a rope and someone would hide in the bushes and flash their torch and we had to work together to try and get towards the light it was loads of fun but painful . The next game was when we all had to lie on the grass in a field and then the person at the end of the line had to role over the rest. Then we were finished with games and had to go our cabins to go and sleep. Lights had to be out at eight .But our cabin stayed up a little bit later telling each other funny stories it was great fun until Mrs. Peterson came to tell us lights out. I couldn’t sleep because our cabins didn’t have real doors they were more like curtains but thicker. The wind would bash against the curtains and would let the cold air into our cabin. I also felt something on my hair I couldn’t figure out what it was. The next morning one of my friends who slept with us told me they were holding on to my hair because they were scared. And that is my favourite school day.
My favourite school day was on Tuesday the 27th of April 2009, because that was the morning that I was at home, busy packing my bags for the high africa camp. When we got to school everybody was already at school, they were screaming, running around, and pretty soon after my dad left I started joining in with the noise. When we left school and got in to the bus the teaches put us in a certain place to sit, I didn’t really enjoy who I was sitting next to but when we got there it was all worth it because, when the bus stopped straight away we got out of the bus, got our bags, and then the teachers put us in cabins and what luck they put me with my 3 BFFs Rachel, Keelyn and Nikita. Then we settled in and got changed. Then we had an activity when we had to answer questions about the CAMP it was loads of fun, then we had 1 more activity we were all split in to groups there was group 1 and group 2 I was in group 1. Then we had hot dogs for lunch. After lunch we all went to our cabins and relaxed then a while later we were told to come and eat supper we had spaghetti bolognaise, Then we got ready for bed. Once we were donewe played a night game, then when we were finished with the game we went straight to bed. The next morning we had
During a Friday in Year 1 we were about to have assembly. I wasn’t expecting much when I walked in. But then came the star of the week. When Mrs.Cordner called up my name I was so surprised because this was now my 4th time being star of the week. I was so excited!!! That week I led the class, and I enjoyed every bit of it. In the morning I also got to stand in the front of the line, which was fun too. I hope I get to be star of the week again, because then my parents are really proud of me, which is a great feeling!!!That weekend I was allowed to watch Disney Channel! I WAS SO HAPPY THAT DAY!!!!!
My favourite day at school was on Tuesday the 27th of April 2009 when went to High Africa .On the second day when we got there we went in this room and we met three guys that where from High Africa and they told us they names and the grade 5s were with us. A few minutes later we had to go and change in to our clothes on , and we had roll’s for lunch. So we had to go and choose our cabins and I was with Jena, Nicole, Tayla , Ruby and every –body brought sweets and chips and we hid it under my bed in a blanket . they called us in a half an hour later to do a team song and we were split in to groups. I was in group one ands our team songs was cheaters .. we had to go to rock climbing and I was stuck in the middle of the thing and I fell . that was my favourite day at school.
My favourite day at school was camp at camp in grade 3. We went hiking on the mountain and we went to the light house . We went to the beach and it was so fun because we told scary stories and ate macaroni and cheese and drank hot chocolate that tasted like water. I did it with my friend Nicole and Ruby and we had to go to bed because we had to go to the beach in the morning so we can have some fun but we didn’t go to the beach because the waves were to strong so we decided to go and see the penguins . The penguins were so cute and we saw a penguin laying an egg and we saw penguins on the beach and then we went to the sea shop and we needed money so we can buy something . At the sea shop we saw Dead Sea animals like a seal but they looked alive. So we went to the camp and it was the last of camp so we ate some hotdogs with mustard or ketchup and we drove back to school and it was so exciting.
When I went to High Africa, I did the leap of faith. When they told me to jump, I was afraid but I did it. I did not grab the pole but I touched it and I was happy after that . Then we went to build a raft .The teachers that were there were Mr Mac ,Mr Henry and Miss Perry.
My Favourite day at Chesterhouse was when we went to High Africa. It took 1 hour and 36 minutes, we were there. The next day we went to the climbing wall and then the Leap of Faith. All the Year 5’s were split into two teams the Rock Monkeys and the Saboteurs. I was in the Rock Monkeys, the whole team got to do the 12m climbing wall. We all did the climbing wall and thenand then Leap of Faith by ourselves. The Leap of Faith was fun because you had to climb up a ladder, stand on a pole and you jump trying to catch the bar that is swinging right in front of you. The reason it was fun is because of the feeling you get if you catch it. The climbing wall has lots of handholds and footholds. One of the people who work at High Africa attaches a rope to your harness. You start climbing. Some people think they aren’t going to get to the top. If you slip you won’t get hurt you just hang in the air. You can stop or carry on until you reach the black bar. You’re done climbing, then jump backwards and start abseiling down.
We were at a camp called High Africa. We were playing foot cricket in our dorm. Teega was bowler, Josh was footsmen (batsmen) and I was wicket keeper. The objective was to hit the stumps with the tennis ball while the footsmen tried to kick it away. Teega threw the ball and Josh kicked it straight into Teega’s eye. Everyone burst out laughing. Teega was in constant pain on the ground. I got out my water and started drinking it while I was standing wicket keeper. Josh kicked it backwards and the ball bounced up and hit the bottle from the bottom shooting the water up into my face. Some of it went up my nose. Now everyone started laughing about what happened, while I was coughing and drying off my face. The day was so fun because we all were laughing and having fun, plus I was the funniest boy of the day in my dorm. I had such a fun time with Teega and Josh playing foot cricket. We made such fun of a boring day with just a tennis ball. We all had fun even though we got hurt a lot. It was a ball. We swam in the Breede River and built rafts to sail in and ours broke down. Sadly.
My favorite day at school was a Friday, during the last two periods of school. It was with Mrs. Sheridan the grade3 teacher and Mr. Fair the grade6 teacher. We went to Clare Ann Fonteyn on a tractor ride, it was an old tractor and it made a big noise. Clara Ann Fonteyn is a huge area near D’Urbanville where animals stay if they were injured or hurt. It was very fun and we learned a lot about all the animals that lived there. Many animals were very badly injured and the man, that lived there, saved them and that’s why they were living in that habitat. It was a grass land with some trees and watering holes. It’s a very beautiful place. It even had a small tin mine that was used many years ago. It was fun going there, not just because we got to wear civvies, but we also got to spend time in such a beautiful environment with such a wonderful view over D’Urbanville. We got to learn a bit about our environment in South Africa, and the animals that live there. Plus we got time to play with our friends and have loads of fun!
It was with Madison ,Eli, Daniel C, Christina and I. We were running around in the dark, and gossiping about other people. It was really funny because every time we heard a sound, we suddenly kept quiet. We were sitting on the ground and somebody came to the grass where we were sitting. They asked if Marilyn was with us. We didn’t see who it was because it was so dark. We didn’t recognize the voice either. The person was still there and we all started to run away. The person was still calling for Marilyn while we were running. Then we all got up and started to run somewhere else About fifteen minutes later we heard somebody calling every one because it was bed time. It was a lot of fun because we all heard secrets that we didn’t know before!!! :D
My best day at Chesterhouse was when I met Rebecca Choice. That was also one of those days when I wasn’t feeling so good. I was sad because I didn’t have many friends. Rebecca started talking to me and we automatically became friends. Miss Perry helped Rebecca and I stay together by letting us sit together. That day we had another person come to our group, called Lucinda. We called our group the three yo yos. The group also had a sleepover that night. That was my best day at Chesterhouse. Rebecca and I are still friends today, I have many good days, but I find this one the best day at Chesterhouse. I am so happy to have a friend like Rebecca!
My best day at Chester house was when I met Margot Wentzel. It was so weird how we met. It all started on a Friday afternoon, Margot was a new girl and didn’t have many friends, so I started talking to her. We had a lot in common, we have the same hair color and the same birthday month .Do you know what was even weirder? Margot is only two days older than me and we live close to each other. Lucinda was my friend and she met Margot as well, so we made this group called the three yo-yos, we also made a website. That night we had a sleep over. That was my best day ever./..
My favorite day at Chester house was when I first came to the school.
At the beginning beginning of the day I met Aimee who showed me around the school. When she took me to class everyone told me their names so that I could learn them off by heart. The first lesson we did was tell the class about our holiday which I really enjoyed because I got to tell everyone about my trip to Dubai. Then we had to write it out .Afterwards we did some maths .It is one of my favorite subjects. I thought it was was fun . At break, I made some friends, who are now my best friends, Amber, Heather, Marilyn and Aimee. THE END!!
MY FAVORITE DAY AT CHESTERHOUSE was when we all went to camp at High Africa . We went there on Wednesday and we all came back on the Friday on the same week only the grade fours and fives went to High Africa. It was a great time and we all had lots of fun. We wore home cloths and slept on bunk beds. The food was cooked very well and even the area was clean and there was a lot of fresh air . My favorite part was when we were on the jungle gym ,it was a bit scary but I made it to the other side easily . We had four teams , apples ,cherries,+ bananas and the dates. The cherries won .One thing I really liked was that we could sleep with anyone in a cabin. Over all I think that it was the best CAMP ever that I have ever been to!
My favorite day at Chester house was when my grade went to the High Africa Camp. There was an obstacle course. There was a part when you had to climb on a ladder and you had to stand on a long pole made out of wood. Then you would have a harness on. All you do is lean back and you let your feet go off of the wooden pole. You are doing this all by yourself. That was so fun because when you are swinging in the air it feels like you are flying! It was called the Leap of Faith. It was about 20 feet high (12 meters). In grade 4, Mrs. Vorster’s class, I was so scared when I was climbing on the ladder. It felt like I was going to fall and die. But now, in grade 5, it was so fun when I was brave enough to do it so I did it.
At the school fair there was a mechanical bull. I decided to ride on it. I thought that it was impossible for the bull to throw me off on to the big mattress. I had a bangle on my wrist. I climbed on to the bull and it started to move. It was going quite slow but then it started to go faster! It was spinning, shaking, wobbling and was still going faster and faster! I stayed on for about 30 seconds when suddenly my bangle flung off my wrist! I flung off the bull too and I just missed the mattress! I found my bangle and everyone was laughing at me. It was so funny that I started laughing too! Later, I saw Joshua Appolis and he offered me some chewing gum. I reached for some gum but when I touched it I got an electric shock! This was a very fun experience.
My Favorite Day At Chesterhouse My favorite day at ChesterHouse was at the camp called High Africa. The last day was when we went to the jungle gym. We went to practice before going on the top of the jungle gym .It was easy to learn what to do. So we went on the climbing wall. I was lucky because I was the first one to go. The climbing wall was not hard but I got stuck on the first one. Then a man came and got it off. Then I went on till I finished it. THE END
My favorite day at Chesterhouse was when I went to the camp at High Africa. The best day was the last day of the camp. We each shared a cabin. I shared it with Aimee, Heather and Andrea. But on the last night only Aimee and I shared the cabin. We had it all to ourselves! I woke up on the last day early because it was Aimee’s birthday. I got dressed while Aimee was in the shower. On the spare bed I wrote “ HAPPY B-DAY AIMEE!”, and then when she got out of the shower, she was really happy! After that Aimee and I decided that we should get our things packed up so that when everyone had to pack up to leave for home, Aimee and I would be already ready to go home. Then we went to breakfast with the rest of our class. Everyone sang to Aimee for her birthday. We ate some eggs and then we got some great news. If we were really good, we could go on the ”Long drop to Death”. Our instructor explained that the Long drop to Death was an exercise where we had a harness attached to our waists and we were told to do some obstacle courses on a jungle gym 10metres up in the air. I thought it was super scary. Aimee and I agreed that we would never do it. We were sent back to our cabins to put on our takkies, sun screen and some comfortable clothes. I thought that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to do the excise. Besides it would be the last excise at camp. When we saw the place, it didn’t look bad at all. Aimee was really nervous. I thought she would cry. I told her not to worry and that it was perfectly safe. When we got up there, my nerves disappeared. We all waited in the line. By this stage Aimee was crying. Marilyn and I were trying to cheer her up, but she was just too scared. Soon after that it was our chance to have a go. The obstacles weren’t that hard. But what ever we did we couldn’t look down. First we had to strap on our harnesses. Then we attached them to the wire so that if we were to fall, then we would just be hanging in the air. We had to walk along a beam. Then we had to walk on a long piece of string. We didn’t do the whole course because we didn’t have enough time. So we walked along the side to the end. There was a man who worked there and he helped us get down. It was a really, really long way down!!! After we had been slowly dropped down by the rope, we went to go have lunch. We ate hotdogs. In the end, Aimee was fine. But she didn’t do the course. We had some time to relax and then we said thanks and goodbye to our instructors. We hopped onto the bus and had a safe trip back home. We all had a really good time!!!!! THE END!!!!!
My favorite day at school was on a Saturday when it was the school carnival. So at the carnival there were lots of fun things to do. My favorite thing to do was the sand art that was in the middle of the carnival. My second favorite thing to do was the food and the water canon. I had lots of fun and it was one person who inspired me to climb the climbing wall. My sister and I went jumping on and off the jumping castle We also sat on the chair in side of the dunk tank. I went first and nobody tried to get me in the water so somebody got me into the water by just pushing the button and I fell in to the water and my sister started to laugh. Then we went to go buy some stink bombs we made the whole place like gas. Then I bought lots of pizzas and hamburgers . The shops were great and I liked the candy shop and the gift and toy shop in the east side of the school field. At the carnival I went to the hot dog stand and I went to buy one for me and one for my sister. The next shop I went to was the 1 , 2 , 3 , 7 , 6 gift store at the Northwest of the school field. I think the carnival was really very fun. And I can’t wait till I come to the next school carnival. The carnival was also very fun . And I hope the next school carnival is as good as the one before. I hope it comes next year or the year after that for because the carnival was very fun. The end of my fun.
My best day at school was when I went to High Africa. We got to pick our cabin mates! I chose my best friends: Marilyn Makanga, Ella Roberts, heathr and Madeline Baskerville. It was so funny because we were told to go to bed and as soon as the door was shut we went crazy. I got up and jumped on my bed, we started screaming and shouting. The cabin next door had Rebecca Choice, Madison Inskip and Lucinda turquand-young and Jessica fisher. They then started shouting at us and spoiled the fun. Then Mr. Henry came inside while it was all happening so I jumped in Ella’s bed while she was walking around. Then she said hey that is me bed! I laughed and jumped back in my bed. Eventually we got to sleep we awoke at Mr. Macs horrible singing!!! When we had gotten dressed we went have some breakfast. Everyone got back and we started as boy against the girl’s war. Everyone who has spray deodorant sprayed each other. Those who didn’t have any, filled bottles with water and threw them! We even made rafts mine sank and a boy called Nicholas Chester jumped on my head and I nearly drowned! Curse him! The next day we went on a giant jungle Jim and a climbing wall, there was something called the leap of faith it was soooo cool. When you climb the climbing wall it is really fine, in the two years I have been there I have never made it to the top. The Leap of Faith, I enjoyed so much. It is a beam of wood pretty high up, once you climb the ladder you have to leap to try and to hang on to a metal bar hanging from a rope. I think the most scary thing of all, was the long drop to death. The long drop to death is about 10m high; it is a giant jungle Jim where you have to do a course, walking across a wooden beam, a rope step thing and then bungee jump down. The food at high Africa was very good. It was also very cool because we had the best teacher ever, Mr. Henry
Lucinda Turquand-young My favorite day was when I went to camp this year at High Africa with my friends for two nights. We went on the bus, there and I sat next to my best friends Ella Christina and Rebecca and Heather. We had a lot of free time to play capturer boys vs. girls! It was awesome! The girls obviously won! We had deodorant fights and the girls won because we had more deodorant then the boys. We did a lot of activities with the people who worked there. The long drop to death was awesome but really scary because I almost fell of the Beam. All my friends and teachers were cheering me on when I got stuck on the climbing wall and the long drop to death. We slept in cabins; - it was very hard to fall asleep in such horrible beds. We were kept up by the next cabin and hardly slept. The next day we woke up by Mr. Mac singing good morning good morning to you. I spent most of my time with my bffls Christina, Ella and Madison. We did the activities together. We also swam together in the Breda River which was very very dirty. We call ourselves Da weirdo’s because we spent, and still spend so much time together. We were inseparable the whole time we even slept in the same room. When I did the leap of faith they cheered me on, they said I could do it and that really helped. My teacher Mr. Henry was awesome, he was the one who played cricket and did activities with us, BUT he did get very annoying.
My best day at school was my first day at Chesterhouse. I made loads of new friends and all the teachers were very kind to me. My best friends when I first came were: Christina, Rebecca, Aimee, Heather and Lucinda. Mrs. Peterson was my teacher then and she was very kind to me. She is one of my favourite teachers. All my bestest friends that I had in yr.4 I still have to day but maybe not Heather because she is mean to me!! The day was also fun because at break we got all crazy (Christina got the craziest) and after school when we got crazier again on the field But I was not in Christina’s class. But I was so glad that I was in Lucinda’s class. Then I met more people in the other class. Marilyn then became my bffl!! She is still really kind to me and still is my best friend. I had a great first day and I started to learn everyone’s name!!!!!!The other teacher was really nice to me too!!!Mrs.Voster and Mrs.Davies
Mrs. Peterson is a very kind teacher and I am so glad I was in her class with all my other friends! Except Christina because she was in the other class!! Lucinda and Christina are still always going to be my bestest friends!!!!! Mrs. Peterson didn’t give us so much work and let us sit on the floor. With was very fun because we could talk!!!! But the sad part was that Margot had never joined the school yet!! Which was very sad because she is one of ,my best friends!!!
My favorite day was when I caught the first catch of cricket match. We lost the game but decided to practice against them , they started to get tired so we stared to catch most of the balls that they hit in the air. The team was proud of me, after I caught it. Zack and the team were all there when I court the ball. They were so happy, shortly after Eli, Marco and James caught the ball. It was a hard game but we still didn’t give up. When we got to school I was so happy, after that I went home and did all my homework.
When I first went school I had one friend. Her name was Skye and James legge .We became good friends. After a few days we were the best of best friends. But Skye and I were fighting over some thing but don’t get me wrong I don’t know what we were fighting over. So a few days went by and we were still not friends. So I got fed up with not having Skye around so I went to her and said Skye do you want to be my friend what did she say, yes.
But she had a thing to say to me that she had a boyfriend. I was cool with that but I did feel alone Skye said that she will always be my friend and I felt very happy what she said to me so we were friends after all. Then I got more friends and if Skye and I aren’t friends any more I can go to another friend but since then we were always friends I do play with the other friends to.but
Liam My favorite day was the first day at HighAfrica camp. Mr. Henry’s Year 5 class, that I am in, did all types of activities. The activities including rock climbing, Frisbee throwing and the best of all canoeing. That we cabins we slept in were very nice we got to choose 5 people per cabin they were me Marco, Liam, keegan and James. We stayed for two nights but it was worth it because we split up into groups and built rafts our team won because we had the most stable raft. The breakfast was delicious. It was late in the night and I heard knocking it was a friend from another cabin he said he had a headache so we took him to the teacher and the teacher gave him medicine he came back and said he’s fine we all went to bed. The next day we all went home and saw baboons in the mountain it was the best time ever
Christopher My favorite day at school was the day that we went to Simon’s Town; we set up camp then went to go visit the penguins. It was fun because it is nice to see how the penguins behave in the environment. The down fall was that I couldn’t swim because I didn’t bring my swimming costume but it was good though because the water was freezing and the tides were high. So I sat and watched them play while I helped the teacher’s keep an eye on everyone .We returned to camp after a long Day and slept.
My favorite day was when the under 11 cricket team entered our second six a side tournament. We won the semi-final and then went to the final match, but before that we had cool drink and a hot dog. I think it was Zack who helped us win the semi-final. Unfortunately we lost the finals and could not get any medals, but Zack asked the umpire if we could keep the ball then on Monday so that we could sign the ball. Only in the final I got the wicket and Mathew, Stephan and Cameron were the only bats men. In the first two matches we lost and I only got two runs in the first match. We were all tired after the finals and we were all upset about losing the matches.
My favorite day at chesterhouse was my first day .I chose this day because I made some new friends and I leant new things. Maddy showed me around the school and introduced me to Farihah. Unfortunately Maddy left in the second term.Farihah was new to, so we both went through the new school bulling phase. It was exciting going to High Africa, because it was my second time going on camp.
We made it into the 6 aside semi-final. The six aside tournament players are Cameron Price, Mathew Roman, Joshua Appollis, Daniel Chiwara, James Dodd and Jan. We made it into the 6 aside tournament on a Friday. We just had fun by playing as a team and that’s all our coach asked for us to play as a team. Evan thou we didn’t win a medal it was the best time of my life so far!
At camp when I shot the targets in the field. With the slingshot. The targets were metal circles in the wooden plank. We slept in wooden mini houses with 1 shower and 1 basin. We had 4 beds and their was Joshua ,Cameron, James legge, Teega, Daniel and Eli. We went canoeing in the Breede River. We ate hot dogs and Burger’s. We made our own potjie.
When we played in the dark I put 1 of Diron’s fishing worm in Heather’s sleeping bag. Then she screamed so loud we could not get to sleep. In the morning we played foot cricket in the cabin we yoused a tennis ball and for the bat we yoused your foot and for the wickets we yoused Joshua’s bag. Then we went to the climbing wall. Then we went home.
My best day at Chester house was when I met amber it was the first day of school she was putting her stuff on her desk and I went over to her and said hi.Then we became just friends then we had to pick our seats I sat in front of her we could still talk but not very easily. When it was break time we sat together that was when we became friends for life. After break we had Afrikaans and I sat at her desk with her. she was so nice to me ,she would help me if I was stuck with my work, if I fell she would help me. She would always be my partner we made that day our friend ship dayaversiry .that day will always be special to us and we will always befriends sorry mistake best friends
We are always best friends even when we fight we know we will always get back together again because that’s what best friends do. and the teacher responsible was Mrs. Greyvenstain because she put us in the same class. But know we aren’t in the same classand I am really sad.

Olympic Day at Chesterhouse
Last year when I was in grade 5, we had a day where each grade had a different country to represent.
The school is in Elsie’s river
I did it with the support of my friends, coaches and parents that came to support.
It was on the last day of term 3
We ran 1.3km long it was tiring but fun and I enjoyed myself.
Questions
What day was it on?
Monday
My favorite day at school is Monday because it is I.T.
We did the fun run with the year 2s,3s,5s,6s,7s,8s,9s and10s.The day was fun because we ran like mad .It was amazing .There were prizes and when we were finished we did
other things like the year 2s and 3s had to write ‘’CHESTERHOUSE RULES’’,on paper .They had to write it
with the paint brush stuck to there caps !!!Then we got a t-shirt that said ‘’CHESTERHOUSE FUN RUN’’.
My Favorite Day At Chesterhouse
My favorite day at ChesterHouse was at the camp called High Africa.
My favorite Day at School
Henry
Lucinda Turquand-young
My favorite day was when I went to camp this year at High Africa with my friends for two nights.
Then I got more friends and if Skye and I aren’t friends any more I can go to another friend but since then we were always friends I do play with the other friends to.but
Liam
My favorite day was the first day at HighAfrica camp.
Christopher
My favorite day at school was the day that we went to Simon’s Town; we set up camp then went to go visit the penguins.
